Compare what is actually included
Request quotes on the same origin, destination, Incoterm, weight, dimensions and service level. Check collection, terminal, documents, insurance, delivery and local charges as well as estimated transit time.
Consider the cargo and calendar
Air may suit urgent or smaller shipments; ocean often works for larger volumes; road may fit regional routes. The decision also depends on product nature, temperature, risk, frequency and capacity.
Plan contingencies
Allow for inspection, congestion, transshipment, storage, demurrage, delays and rate changes. A logistics plan compares scenarios; it does not guarantee transit time.
